A Thousand Shades of Cold is a metal / progressive rock band from Rochester, New York and the new shining light of their hometown. The name A Thousand Shades of Cold serves as an archetype for the group’s combined emotions, trials and tribulations, and its ever evolving sound of alternative metal blended with heavy and progressive rock. This is a group focused on energy and intensity. Their mixture of styles creates a sound that is meaningful, something that invokes emotions in the listeners.

A Thousand Shades of Cold is Jake Gissin on vocals, Juan Calixto on Drums, McCue Greene on bass, Dan Vanderostyn on guitars, and Randy McLeod on guitars.

A Thousand Shades of Cold’s first release was the self-titled debut album recorded with Mike Hatalak (It Dies Today) and Rich Spalla in Niagara Falls, New York which turned heads, capturing the fans far and wide throughout New York with their infectious hard rocking songs. Now A Thousand Shades Of Cold has begun the process of recording their second album, Darken the Daylight. The brand new album will hit stores in the summer of 2012 on Spectra Records. The first single off Darken The Daylight is “It’s A God Damn Suicide” and will air on The Jimmy Star Show.

Currently ATSOC is touring the northeast. The band has also been recently featured in the Kung Fu Factory video game “Supremacy MMA” available now on XBOX 360 and Playstation 3.
