Bernie Larsen is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer renown as a solo artist, frontman of reggae outfit Cry on Cue, guitarist for the likes of Melissa Etheridge, Jackson Browne, Rickie Lee Jones, Bonnie Raitt, and Lucinda Williams, and producer for the likes of Maureen Toth and Scotty Alan.

Bernie Larsen’s new solo recording Out of Reach is a sparse soulful reflection of life’s changes and the questions that arise from the beauty and pain caused by the risk of feeling. Heart-enveloping songs like “Searching Soul” “Believe in Love” and “Doubt of Your Touch” find Larsen’s seasoned voice providing an axis point marking the crossroads of the melancholy soul of Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood while displaying flourishes of the lilting falsetto of Ben Harper.

At the other end of his musical swatch is his tenured reggae outfit Cry On Cue whose most recent release, Love + Trust is the result of a collaboration with renowned reggae producer Karl Pitterson, whose recording credits include Bob Marley (Exodus & Kaya), Burning Spear (Social Living), Peter Tosh (Legalize It), Bunny Wailer and Toots and the Maytals.  The resulting record is one that Reggae Beat Magazine called “…rock-solid reggae as crisp and bright as anything on the Harder They Come soundtrack…a Tour de Force.”

Bookending his recorded chapters, Bernie finds time to compose music for independent films having had music used in Friends With Money starring Catherine Keener, Jason Isaacs, Scott Caan and Jennifer Aniston and Elsewherestarring Oscar-nominated actress Anna Kendrick.

In addition to gigging around the world, writing and recording, Larsen has produced over 120 albums, many of which have been released via his Spinout Records imprint. Recent production work includes the sublime album Shine by L.A. singer-songwriter Maureen Toth and Wreck and the Mess by Marquette, MI native Scotty Alan.
