James Balsamo

James Balsamo is an American filmmaker and actor known for his recent release, Hack Job, a tongue in cheek anthology film in the style vein of Troma and featuring cameos by Lloyd Kaufman, Oderus Urungus of GWAR, Dave Brockie, Lynn Lowry, and Debbie Rochon, as well as nods to Kaufman’s Toxic Avenger and Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D.

Attending his first Horror convention at the age of eight, James became fascinated with the Horror genre and wanted to follow in the footsteps of his star slasher icons, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. As a student in many prestigious New York acting schools, including Lee Strasberg, James’ passion for film and acting continued to grow. A New Yorker all his life, Balsamo continued his professional career at Professional Performing Arts High School in New York City. James grew tired of theatrical acting after high school, and knew it was time to make the transition to the big screen. He left his Shakespearian tights at the door, and spilled big screen blood all the way through Five Towns College.

James Balsamo appears on both sides of the camera in many of his works, including his most recent project, Hack Job. Hack Job, with a budget under $50,000 has made its international debut, is selling worldwide, and was featured at the Flint Horror Convention, as well as exciting mentions during the NYC Tour of music icons GWAR and Ghoul. Jame’s next project is entitled, I Spill Your Guts!
