At Jimmy Star Entertainment, we teach that Cool cannot be bought. Just as we say cool cannot be faked or copied, it is also true that no amount of money or riches can purchase coolness. We define cool as a concept that incorporates ideas of personal individuation, refined quality, simple pleasure, social consciousness, practical longevity, upscale aesthetic, and real accountability. So there’s a lot involved in being cool, and having cool projects, products and companies, and there is no shortcut.

This can come as a relief for many as for a long time, especially in the arts and entertainment industries, pay for play seemed to be the name of the game, and the big boys controlled much of the production and distribution outlets. Now with the advent of the internet and portable media technologies, the field has opened wider than ever. At Jimmy Star Entertainment we thoroughly embrace the new freedoms that have come from ease of access, all the while knowing that with so much proliferation, it is still the high quality ideas and projects that will rise to the top.

Cool cannot be bought in so far as cool is not up for sale. Cool is about creating one’s own personal values, and living them out. Cool is thinking constitutionally, and not situationally. Cool is about the long haul and not a short scam. Another way to think about it is that a person could buy all the latest cool technologies or the latest cool fashions, but if they are not cool themselves, they won’t know what is cool about the products, they won’t appreciate them, they won’t be any wiser for the purchase, and they won’t know how to work with them as part of a cool lifestyle. They end up to look like a duck out of water, out of their league, trying too hard, and ironically that much more uncool.
